Have you always wanted to prepare your own income tax return but were afraid of doing it incorrectly? Are you interested in completing your tax return yourself and in the comfort of your home for free?

If you would like an IRS-certified volunteer to help you use this free online tax prep tool while you enter your income, deductions and credits, and file both your Federal and CT returns electronically contact at jim@newlifecorp.org for more information or to register for a sessions at New Life Corporation, 540 Ella Grasso Blvd., New Haven on weekdays and Saturdays and at Hamden High School on Tuesday evenings. The volunteers will explain how to enter your information, and they will answer your questions as you prepare your taxes. They will also check your return for accuracy. No lines, no waiting, and you will learn how to do your own taxes in the future. Space is limited, so you must register in advance and choose a date that is convenient for you.

FREE Tax Preparation through the Greater New Haven Vita Coalition Tax Sites

All sites offer free tax preparation on a first-come, first-serve basis to individuals and households with incomes up to $51,000 for the 2012 tax year. Most sites are open from the last week of January through mid-April. Hours are subject to change.
