Anxiety is a normal part of life. Without anxiety we wouldn't run from the car speeding towards us. But too much anxiety can also prevent us from accomplishing goals, both big and small. It can interfere with taking a test. It can interfere with expressing your opinion at work or at school. It can interfere with sharing your knowledge or expertise. One easy method of reducing anxiety is proper deep breathing.

1. Inhale slowly and deeply through you nose.
2. Exhale slowly through you mouth.
3. Inhale slowly again.
4. Exhale slowly while relaxing your shoulder and neck muscles.
5. Inhale slowly while keeping your shoulder and neck muscles relaxed.
6. Exhale slowly while relaxing your abdominal and lower back muscles.
